The Academic Board Meeting for the Spring Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year was held at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Technical Sciences Vocational School.

 

Under the chairmanship of our School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ragıp YILDIRIM, the meeting was held with the participation of the school administration and academic staff, where the 2025-2026 academic year was evaluated in general. The meeting addressed the educational activities carried out during the year, quality and accreditation processes, student-centered studies, sector collaborations, and planning for the 2026-2027 academic year.

 

Within the scope of the meeting; advisory board meetings, student-management meetings, information activities, technical trips, sector meetings, external collaborations, and signed protocols were evaluated. Additionally, firm-program matches for inviting sector experts to classes under the YÖK-TOBB protocol and the contribution of these collaborations to educational processes were emphasized.

 

In the context of quality and accreditation processes, the measurement and evaluation of program outcomes, effective use of the Exam Management System, measurement of learning outcomes, analysis of faculty and course evaluation surveys, updating of ECTS information packages, and regular preparation of meeting minutes were discussed. The studies carried out within the scope of the MEDEK accreditation process were reviewed, and the preparation processes for programs planned to be applied in the upcoming period were evaluated.

 

Additionally, the planning of training and peer evaluation activities for program faculty who gained experience in accreditation processes to share their knowledge and experiences with other programs was addressed. In this context, it was aimed to disseminate the experiences gained during the MEDEK process throughout the school and to strengthen the quality culture in all programs.

 

The planned micro-competency programs for the 2026-2027 academic year were also among the agenda items of the meeting. It was aimed that the micro-competency programs planned to be opened in areas such as effective communication, report writing, time management, and foreign language would contribute to students' academic, professional, and personal development.

 

Within the scope of Vocational Education practices in the workplace, while evaluating the processes aimed at gaining sectoral experience for students, plans regarding students with extended school duration and valid excuses benefiting from the IME application in the fall semester were also discussed. In addition, preparations for the “Sector-Student Meeting” event planned to be held at the beginning of the 2026-2027 Fall Semester were addressed.

 

Projects accepted this year under TÜBİTAK 2209 A/B student projects were evaluated, and mechanisms to encourage increasing the number of projects, mentoring processes among faculty members, and project writing training for students were emphasized.

 

Additionally, the effective use of the Graduate Tracking System was discussed, emphasizing that students should be encouraged to register in the system through the address mezun.mehmetakif.edu.tr.

 

The Academic Board Meeting concluded with general evaluations regarding the 2025-2026 academic year, review of MEDEK and quality processes, planning of micro-competency programs, and evaluation of studies for the 2026-2027 academic year.
