Department of Computer Technologies Attended the 8th Mediterranean Informatics Summit

Our university's Technology Community organization, along with our Computer Technologies Department students, participated in the 8th Mediterranean Informatics Summit on Friday, December 6, 2024, accompanied by Technology Community Academic Advisors Lecturer Gökhan TURAN and Lecturer Şevket BAŞ.
The summit, hosted by Antalya Technopark at the Mimar Sinan Congress Center, brought together important figures from the world of informatics and technology, conveying the latest innovations and developments in the field of technology to the participants.
The opening speeches of the day were delivered by the organization committee director Emrah Kozan, Antalya Technopark General Manager Dr. İbrahim Yavuz, Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology M. Kasım Gönüllü, and Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin.
One of the noteworthy presentations at the event was conducted by Turkey Space Agency (TUA) astronaut Tuva Cihangir Atasever. Atasever shared valuable information on space technologies and our country's space mission, garnering great interest from the participants.
In the Inspiring Talks from Industry Leaders session;

In the Digital Transformation in the Digital Age panel; moderated by Çanakkale Technopark General Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erkan Bil,
- CW Energy R&D Manager Kadir Hacıahmetoğlu,
- Veboni Corporate Projects Manager Aykut Yağmur,
- Corendon Airlines CIO Engin Çeliktuğ,
- Ledbim CEO Taha Öz discussed digitalization and transformation processes.
In the session titled Talks from the World of Informatics;

- Microsoft MVP Ömer Çolakoğlu,
- Rafadan Tayfa Producer & Director İsmail Fidan (ISF Studios),
- YouTube Technology Channel Burhan Altınsoy,
- Artificial Intelligence Expert Sinem Saka shared current developments in the industry with the participants.
In the last part of the day, Inspiring Stories, Academic and Author Prof. Dr. Uğur Batı provided valuable information from the academic world, inspiring the participants.
With inspiring speakers, participants broadened their vision, while our students established direct contact with leading companies in the industry, gaining internship and job opportunities. In this way, our students found the opportunity to take concrete steps towards their career goals and prepare more strongly for the industry.
Our Computer Technologies Department students had the opportunity to meet with leading figures in the technology and informatics world throughout the event, exchanging information. The day ended with a raffle and group photo event organized at the end of the summit.
Participants left quite satisfied with the information-filled sessions and networking opportunities offered by the Mediterranean Informatics Summit 2024. The participation of our university students in such organizations is of great importance for both their academic and career development.
