The seminar, covering topics such as Penetration Testing, SIEM, Threat Hunting, and AI-Supported Log Analysis, was organized by the Digital Transformation Coordination and Information Processing Department of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. The event, held in the Veterinary Faculty Conference Hall, attracted significant interest from academics and students. Students from the Mechatronics Program, Autonomous Systems Technician Program, Computer Program, and Digital Transformation Electronics Program of the Technical Sciences Vocational School also actively participated in the seminar.

The seminar was conducted to raise awareness in the field of cyber security, one of today's most critical technology areas, and to enhance the competencies of university members in this field. Experienced industry professionals Yasin Gürgen, Furkan Özer, M. Adem Pekdemir, and Furkan Yasin Keskin participated as speakers in the event.

The presentations covered a wide range of topics, from penetration testing processes to SIEM systems used for detecting and analyzing security incidents, and from threat hunting methodologies to AI-based log analysis. Participants had the opportunity to access technical information through real case examples, application scenarios, and current threat types.

In his opening speech, Digital Transformation Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sedat Metlek emphasized that digital transformation is not only a technological process but also a vision, culture, and institutional maturation process, stating:

“As a university, we are taking strong steps in our digitalization journey, and we value increasing awareness in the field of information security. He expressed his belief that the knowledge and experiences shared here today would provide valuable contributions to both our students and academics.”

The event was held in two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Participants created an interactive environment by directing questions to the speakers and had the opportunity to clarify many topics they were curious about in the field of cyber security.

At the end of the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sedat Metlek thanked the speakers individually and stated that the Digital Transformation Coordination would continue to hold similar events in the upcoming period, in line with the university's digital transformation vision.
