Interior Design Program

PRESENTATION

Students who score sufficient points from the University Entrance Exam YGS-5 in our college's associate degree program gain the right to education and start their studies. There are 3 faculty members working in the program. Additionally, other faculty members of our college also participate in the courses.

The two-year associate degree program is conducted with theoretical and practical courses. In the Interior Design program; courses such as Basic Design Principles, Space (Building) Knowledge, Technical Drawing, Computer-Aided Drawing and Design, Project Preparation, and English are taught, and practical applications are conducted. Education is provided in Turkish.

As a general rule, evaluation is done through one midterm exam (%40) and one final exam (%60) per course. For their own development, students are guided by faculty members to conduct research-oriented projects related to the field they are studying.

INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES

The Interior Design program of the Design Department of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Technical Sciences Vocational School is located in the Burdur Central Bahçelievler campus. There is one application area, two drawing classrooms, and multiple shared computer laboratories serving our program.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Our students who successfully complete the courses taught in the Interior Design program and successfully finish the workplace practical training internships, which last a total of 30 working days, will earn the title of Interior Design Technician.

According to general research conducted across Turkey, one of the biggest problems faced by industrial organizations, especially those producing for interior spaces, is the lack of technical personnel who can create original designs. The aim of this program is to meet the need for designer workforce required in businesses and offices.

They can work as project staff in Restoration companies, as drawing staff or designers in architecture and engineering offices, as managers, assistant managers, authorized personnel, or controllers in model-making offices, etc. Additionally, if they pass the Vertical Transfer Exam, they can transfer vertically to the relevant departments of related faculties. Graduates will be able to work with the title of technician in both the private sector and government institutions.
