PRESENTATION

The Construction Technology program was established in 1976 under the name of the Building Department and previously conducted educational activities within Akdeniz University and Süleyman Demirel University. With the establishment of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in 2006, it has been affiliated with this institution and continues to provide education with 3 faculty members. Each year, 65 students are admitted to the daytime education and 65 to the evening education. Students who successfully complete the associate degree program consisting of compulsory and elective courses graduate with the title of Construction Technology Technician. Our program is a Higher Education Program that provides two years of education to ensure that qualified intermediate workforce needed in both production and post-sales service levels of the construction sector is trained in accordance with the quality and service philosophy that meets the expectations of the era. It trains graduates who have acquired the knowledge required by technological developments, gained practical skills, are familiar with materials, have knowledge of production techniques, can use drawings and standards related to their profession, possess the knowledge and skills to solve professional problems, can use contemporary devices, and hold an associate degree diploma. Construction technicians form a professional group that actively participates in the construction of structures such as dams, roads, airports, and housing, and works as technical staff in firms providing control services or in public or local administrations. Our graduates are expected to have sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out quantity surveying and estimation processes related to the structure, prepare construction work plans, ensure that buildings are constructed safely and in accordance with their projects, and conduct other engineering technology-related studies. Students who successfully complete the Turkey Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ) and the Degree Program will be awarded an Associate Degree in Construction Technology Professional Staff. Students will be placed according to their scores if they take the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center for the Construction Technology Program and achieve a sufficient score.  In preparing our curriculum, the demands of employers and graduates working in the field have been taken into account in terms of both compatibility with developing technology and market validity.

In order for a student to graduate from the Construction Technology program, they must pass all courses with a total of 120 ECTS credits in the curriculum and have at least a 2.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale.
