The Control and Automation Technology program previously conducted educational activities under the name of Electronics Program at Akdeniz University and Süleyman Demirel University. With the establishment of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in 2006, it has been affiliated with this institution and continues education with 1 faculty member and 1 instructor. Each year, 25 students are admitted to the daytime education of the department. Students who successfully complete the associate degree program consisting of compulsory and elective courses graduate with the title of Control and Automation Technician.

Control and Automation Technology is a branch of science that focuses on producing and applying the knowledge and technologies that ensure all industrial production systems based on electricity, electronics, mechanics, and computer operate as intended and planned. The aim of the Control and Automation Technology Program is to introduce and teach innovations in all industrial fields, from the simplest control application to robot technology, with courses such as Basic Electricity and Electronics, Digital Electronics, Computer Usage and Applications, Instrumentation, Process Measurement, Electrical Machines and Control, English and Professional English, Automatic Control, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), SCADA. It aims to train qualified technical personnel and managerial candidates who can apply their theoretical and practical knowledge in the industry.

Students will be placed according to their scores in the Higher Education Transition Exam (YGS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center, provided they take the exam and obtain a sufficient “YGS 1” score. In preparing our curriculum, the demands of employers and professionals who have graduated and are working in the field have been taken into account, both in terms of adapting to developing technology and ensuring market validity.

In order for a student to graduate from the Control and Automation Technology program, they must successfully complete all courses with a total of 120 ECTS credits in the curriculum and have at least a 2.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale.


 

INFRASTRUCTURE OPPORTUNITIES

The Control and Automation Technology program of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Technical Sciences Vocational School is located in the Burdur Central Bahçelievler campus. It has 2 laboratories: a PLC, SCADA laboratory and a General Electronics Laboratory where Basic Applications are taught.

Our graduates can easily be employed in all kinds of industrial firms. Control and Automation Technicians work in the assembly, commissioning, operation, maintenance-repair, development, programming, and design, establishment, and implementation of automation systems (electric, electronic, control, mechanical, programming, etc.) suitable for operating conditions. They also work in large, medium, and small-scale enterprises where automatic control devices are produced and applied, particularly in sectors such as food, agriculture, textiles, automotive, medicine, and similar fields. There are high job opportunities in regions where industry is developed and in enterprises that use advanced technology to ensure high efficiency in production.
